Skyline Lodge

The SkyLine Lodge is located high in the Rocky Mountains at the center of the old historic gold mining community of Platoro surrounded by the South San Juan Wilderness. We invite you to come and explore one of Colorado's most beautiful and remote areas.  We are located between Pagosa Springs, Alamosa and Chama, NM at the headwaters of the Conejos River. 

Skyline Lodge has been in continuous operation Since 1945.  It boasts one of the largest and oldest 4th of July celebrations in S.W. Colorado dating back to 1913. Old ghost towns and history come alive here.  Step back in time to unspoiled Colorado. 

The Skyline Lodge is a seasonal resort ( late May to Oct 30th) that is located on the banks of the Conejos River just a mile below the Platoro Reservoir which the highest man made reservoir in North America at approx 10,300 feet.  With fishing opportunities abounding from the high mountain lakes, to the Conejos River and the Platoro Reservoir the Skyline Lodge is the ultimate base camp for your fishing adventure.  This area also boasts some of the best elk hunting in Colorado.   So, whether it's fishing, hunting, horseback riding, ATV'ing or just getting in back touch with nature with the family the Skyline Lodge is the place to stay. 

The Skyline Lodge has a full service restaurant, mercantile, gift shop and fishing supplies.  We operate 13 rental cabins and six lodge rooms and we are the lodging choice for your visit to Platoro, Colorado.  We are the home of the Conejos River Outfitters for all your back country needs while staying in the area. 

The Skyline Lodge is under new ownership since the mid 2006 season and renovations and improvements are continuing in the 2008 season to make your stay the most pleasurable experience.
