Location: The Skyline Lodge is located in a remote area the San Juans of South Central Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We are East of Pagosa Springs, North of Chama, NM & South of Monte Vista.

From Monte Vista: Take Hwy 15 south from Hwy 160 for approx. 12 miles, take a right on FDR 250 (dirt road) and travel for 34 miles to the first bridge in Platoro, which is the entrance to the lodge. The first bridge is approx 1 mile south of the Platoro Reservoir cut-off and 7 miles from the ghost town of Stunner & the Alamosa River crossing.
From Antonito: Take Hwy 17 Southwest out of town for 23 miles until you enter the small town of Horca. In Horca you will make a right (North) on FDR 250 (dirt road) and you will travel 23 miles, with the Conejos River on your left, to the town of Platoro. The Lodge is over your second bridge on the left.
From Chama, NM: Take Hwy 17 North out of town for 22 miles until cross over the Conejos River and enter the small town of Horca. Make a left on FDR 250 (dirt road) and you will travel 23 miles, with the Conejos River on your left, to the town of Platoro. The Lodge is over your second bridge on the left.
Fuel & Vehicle Service: We advise everyone to fill-up prior leaving the hard top as fuel services for unleaded gas are very limited and there are no diesel services for many miles. Only unleaded gas within 40 miles of the Lodge is on FDR 250 between the Platoro and Horca is at the Rocky Mountain Lodge (13 miles south of the Lodge). The Platoro Cabins in Platoro do limited tire repairs and have a few common replacement tires. The Skyline Lodge has free air and offers some vehicle fluids for purchase in the store located in the Lodge.
Cell Phone Usage: The town Platoro is in a remote location in the Rocky Mountains and there is no cell phone signal for many miles. Expect to lose service shortly after leaving Monte Vista, Antonito or Chama. The Lodge has a phone available for Collect or Phone Card use and the Platoro Cabins has a Pay Phone. The Lodge also offers Wireless Internet services for for your computer at a Daily or Weekly rate. See the front desk.
